Description

This artwork portrays the life and legacy of Don Roberto, from his insurgent historical roots and his family’s impact on Mexico’s Independence to the lives of his ancestors, including the execution of Iturbide and the establishment of the new state of Texas-Coahuila.

His childhood unfolded between two borders and two cultures, surrounded by the love of his family and memories of his early years in his grandmother’s house, alongside his aunts and uncles in the state of Nuevo León. The sudden and painful loss of his young mother left a profound mark on his path, completely upending his world but, in time, strengthening the bond with his siblings and his Mexican father.

In the United States, Don Roberto experienced a new rebirth in the love of a Mexican-American woman, with whom he built an extraordinary family and forged a professional career dedicated to serving others. Always committed to the values instilled by his parents, he reaffirmed that through education, anything is possible, while advocating for justice and equality for all immigrants, just like him.
