This work honors the Quetzal, a beautiful emblematic bird of Central America, greatly revered by pre-Hispanic cultures, including the great tlatoani Moctezuma, who used its feathers in ceremonial attire as a symbol of prestige and power. Its bright green and red plumage symbolizes freedom and beauty.
“Nocturnal animals” is about people who prefer the night life, its enigma, darkness, and its mysteries. In the work, you can see people walking on the street or with the lights on in their homes.
