In 2018, the city of Louisville bore witness to a transformative art exhibition titled It’s Your World: Art About The Future Of Community. This groundbreaking event, held at 161 Flux Art + Activism Gallery, showcased the remarkable talents of artists who sought to bridge the gap between art and activism.

The event itself was a dynamic amalgamation of artistic innovation and social consciousness. Through a diverse range of mediums, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and performance art, the exhibition tackled pressing issues surrounding race, inequality, and social justice. It served as a platform for thought-provoking discussions and challenged viewers to confront uncomfortable truths.

The attendees represented a vibrant tapestry of individuals, united by their shared commitment to fostering dialogue and effecting change. The diverse crowd, comprising artists, activists, scholars, and community members, engaged in impassioned conversations about the power of art as a catalyst for social transformation. Their active participation in workshops, panel discussions, and interactive exhibits created an electric atmosphere, fueling a sense of collective purpose.

1619 Flux: Art + Activism proved to be an art gallery unlike any other, transcending traditional boundaries and serving as a catalyst for meaningful societal change. Through the creative expression of artworks like mine, this event was a resounding testament to the ability of art to inspire, provoke, and empower individuals to challenge the status quo.
